Pretty in Pink

3:30 AM 11 Comments

Hi and Good Morning everyone - Alison here today :)

My card this week was inspired by our new challenge - 'Tickled Pink', and it was lovely to play with some light floral colours and shapes, especially in January! lol.

I used a 6 x 6 blank card base and layered First Edition papers onto 300gsm ice white pearl card.  This cardstock was also used for the doily, border and corner die cuts,  and it gives a brilliant clean cut, even on the most intricate dies.  The 2 corner dies are from the  Lace Corner Deco I  set, and the beautiful border at the bottom is the Border Carnivale Die trimmed with some spotty pink ribbon and a bow.

I then matted an adorable Mo Manning image onto the gorgeous Sunflower Doily die.  This is a fabulous size, as it fills a 6 x 6 card pefectly, but still gives you lots of room to add other embellishments.   The large flowers use both sizes of the Judy's bloom dies held together with pearl brads.  The smaller flowers are Darling Daisies, and the leaves are a mix of Pine Branches and Olive Branches

All dies used on this card are:

I hope you find time to enter this week, we love seeing your Cheery Lynn Creations! :)  Dont forget there is always fresh daily inspiration from the rest of the talented DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog

I hope everyone has a smashing week and thanks so much for visiting today.

Hugs and Kisses

3:30 AM 10 Comments

Today for Cheery Lynn Designs I have created a Valentine card using the new Hugs and Kiss digi image from Saturated Canary.  I think she pairs up perfectly with my Cheery Lynn Designs Polynesian Sails Oval and matching Angel Wing.  I used the new Mesh Border to create my vertical border to which I added a Fanciful Flourish.  I used the new Daisy Strip to create my flowers.  Finished size is 6" square.

Alstroemeria Lily Tutorial with Cheery Lynn Designs

3:30 AM 8 Comments

Today, I thought I would show you how to combine old and new dies to create an Alstroemeria Lily. I played around with the proportions of this one, using our different flower dies, and was really pleased with the results. I hope you will give it a try.
Here are the cuts that I used. Notice, in the picture, I used the star from the large rose, but I found it was too small - so for my final sample, I used the Stacker Flower 3. It will be easiest to color your petals and them cut them as needed. The flower will be assembled on a large rose base - with two of the petals removed as shown.
Although my picture above shows the inner petals as one piece - it works better to cut them into individual petals, shape and glue inbetween the base petals.
Finish the center stamens with Flower Soft, pinch together at the bottom and glue to the center of the flower. Shape the petals and arrange them under the flower.
The new CLD Challenge this week is Tickled Pink. We would love to see your creations using Cheery Lynn Designs dies - and each week a project is chosen to win a $20 gift certificate to the store.

Hugs

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Hello! Today I have a card featuring the new Build a Flower dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
I started by cutting the base from Scalloped Rectangle Reflections Boutique. Adding a little texture, I used my favorite Diamonds & Starburst Embossing Plate. The Polynesian Sails Oval doily is the perfect delicate base for my image. Above the image hovers a dragonfly from the new Tiny Things with Wings….such cute little critters in this set!
The larger flower was created using the new Build a Flower #3 set. The flower center, as well as the smaller burgundy flowers were cut from Build a Flower Embellishment #3. Daisies being my favorite flower, you are sure to see more from the Daisy Strip in the future! Foliage from Pair of Ferns, Wreath Strip, Rose Leaf Strip, and Small Leaves #2. Tucked in the flowers is the new Hugs sentiment atop Sentiment Frame #1.
There is still time to enter this weeks challenge for your chance to win the $20 shopping spree! Details Here
Thanks for stopping by!

Heart Shaped Box

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Good Morning, and Happy Friday Everyone!

WOW, where does the time go? It's hard to believe that we are already past mid-January. Seems like yesterday we were getting ready for Christmas and before we can blink, Valentines Day will be upon us!! So with this week's challenge theme in mind, I have a fun heart-shaped box I made to share with you.

It's been really great to play with the new release dies and I was able to incorporate a few of these new dies into this project, but I pulled out some of my favorites dies from my stash as well : ) I used the DL106 Heart to Heart Doily as the focal point of my heart-shaped box. This is such a gorgeous set of dies! You get a set of 4 dies, 3 of which die-cut heart-shaped lace doilies and the 4th gives you a solid shape backing for the largest doily. I bet you are thinking what I am..., there are lots of uses for this gorgeous set all through the year not just Valentines Day! : )

For a bit of a different twist, I decided to build long-stem roses and used the Miniature Rose die and my flower tool to form the rose buds. The BAF #2 Embellishments provided the stems and the baby's breath accents.

If you want to make this box yourself it is actually quite easy. You can use this method for any box that you want to make. Simply have a die cut for the top and bottom of the box. (Hint: I normally do at least 2 die cuts for both the top and bottom for stability) After that, all you need is a strip of paper in whatever height that you want with a 1/2 inch fold to glue it to the top or bottom. When making the bottom simply make the side a little smaller so that the top fits on. If your need to bend the side simply put relief cuts on the 1/2 inch fold to allow you to form it in whatever shape you desire.

Here's a list of the dies used for this project:

B107 - Frills & Hearts Border
B152 - Miniature Rose
B187 - Build a Flower #2
B188 - Embellishment #2
B227 - Love (Set of 2)
B235 - You (Set of 2)
DL106 - Heart to Heart Doily
DL238 - Sophie's Heart Mini Doily

The entries for last week's challenge were just fantastic! I really enjoyed looking in on your wonderful creations and visiting your blogs. I hope you can find some time to visit the challenge this week and put in your entry where the theme is Sweethearts! With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!... Now that's a "sweet deal"!

Have a Cheery Day!

Shape More Than Just Flowers

Happy Friday everyone....Lori here with another lovely card entitled  "Shine your Light" I'm always trying to think of things outside the box a bit and that is exactly what I strived for with the mini doilies on this one.  They really have great dimension cupping them much like a flower.  Adds a really nice pop.

I was able to create the Dogwoods with the new Build a Flower 3.  Honestly if you don't have all the Build a Flowers as of yet...you really have to get them.  They are amazing and the flowers you can create are almost limitless.

Here is my recipe for dies used on this card:

See you next Friday and have a great weekend!!!

Birthday box - SSA magazine - Kianel

3:30 AM 11 Comments
Hello there,
Kianel here with you today to show the project that has been published in the SSA magazine of march 2013 which is out right now in the States. I still can't believe i'm in there among the amazing creations of my DT mates, wow!!!
Here is the birthday box i've made and i hope you will like it:
The bases are made with Scalloped rectangle reflection die. I also used XL square stacker and corresponding large silver square stackers to make my 2nd layer. The marvellous circle around the stamped image is called "Sophia's heart". The tag in the top space is sentiment frame #2. The tiny ones with loving wishes are from sentiment frame #1.
On each side i placed a queen anne's lace border to which i added a ribbon that i bowed in the middle. The box is 17,5 x 16cm and is 4,5cm high. You can then place chocolates or scrapgoodies inside and give it to a person you cherish.
Here are some close up of the flower i realized using the Build A flower #2 die building it from the center and when i was happy with it i placed it on my box and added some more petals on the side to make it look like it lays down on the box.

I then added some flower soft powder to give texture to my petals and some lovely tiny buttreflies from the mini dimensional butterflies set. Aren't those really really cute?

I used the leaves from the Build a flower #2 set and added some white paint to the borders. The tiny rose buds are made using the medium rose  once and the leaves that go with it.
Stamps and papers are Magnolia and Bazzill with cardboard also. Embellies are from a french store. Colouring is made using distress inks and Creative inspirations paints. All dies are from Cheery lynn designs.

Don't forget our weekly challenge and a chance to win a 20$ shopping spree and have some fun!
See you soon, love from France, Kianel.

Lots of Hearts

3:30 AM 10 Comments

In keeping with this week's challenge theme of Sweethearts, I have created this clean and simple card.  Sometimes I enjoy not dressing my cards up with flowers and leaves and just enjoy the simplicity and beauty of the dies.  I created my card base using my Scalloped Square Lg Stackers, cutting a background panel with the coordinating Silver Square Stackers.  I then dry embossed the background panel with my favorite Hearts and Rose Leaves embossing plate.  Next I added a Sweetheart frame; I use spray adhesive to attach the frame to my embossed panel.   The last step was my center hearts which I die cut with my Heart to Heart Doily dies.  I popped up the lower heart for some dimension.

Be sure to visit the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog for more inspiration and to join in on this week's Sweethearts challenge for a chance to win $20 to the store.

With Love....

Hi and Good Morning :)

What gorgeous entries we had last week for our snowflakes challenge - there were some absolute beauties and it was such a pleasure seeing what everyone created!

My card today is for this weeks challenge theme of 'Sweethearts'.  Valentines day is just around the corner, but hearts also make a lovely addition to any card for someone special.

I used a 6 x 6 inch blank card base and stitched MME papers onto pink Bazzill card.  I layered the beautiful  Lady Kate Edger border and the waste from the Celtic Heart Border onto the horizontal paper panel, and then added the Large Heart to Heart Doily Die.  This die is really versatile, with lots of layering components, and so I used the inner heart shape to mat my image too.  I then cut the smallest die from the Two of Hearts, and also the Celtic Heart Die in white for some contrast.  The tiny flowers are made from the BAF embellishment sets and I added some pearls from stash.

All dies uses on this card are:

I hope you find time to join us this week,  and you still have plenty of time to enter.  Dont forget there is always fresh inspiration from the rest of the talented DT over on our Cheery Lynn Inspirations Blog.

Thanks so much for visiting our blog today, and have a smashing week!

Sweetheart Cuddles

3:30 AM 11 Comments
Good Morning Cheery Lynn fans, Donna here today to show you my Sweetheart card I've made for Cheery Lynn Designs showing you some of the new dies and also some oldie but goodies. I've decided to follow the latest challenge which is "Sweethearts"
I've used a Sarah Kay image called "A Little Bit of Country", as I thought they made the perfect image of Sweethearts kissing. Colored with Copics, I cut them out and mounted them using silicone glue to the centre of one of the newest doilies released this month called Eastern Star Doily w Angel Wing.

I've used the Lady Kate Edger on either side of the paper with hearts in the middle, cut out of Kraft Cardstock. And of course the lovely heart is the Celtic Heart, which I cut out of white cardstock, and also out of Kraft cardstock and put them together.
The sentiment I believe is from Magnolia, I never remember as I stamp them out as I get them and put them all in a big container and forget what came from where...lol

Here's a list of the dies I used on my card

I hope I've inspired you to make a lovely Sweet heart's card for this week's challenge, using some of the many heart and love related dies Cheery Lynn Designs make. Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day.
