A Little Bit of Bling

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Good Morning, Happy Tuesday to you all, Donna here with my weekly card hoping to inspire you all to get out your Cheery Lynn dies and create.
I wasn't sure what I would create this week, just so many dies to choose from, and I knew I couldn't put them all on so I used a few older dies combined with a couple new ones.

I've used this super cute image from Mo Manning, colored with Copics, and I've sprinkled Frantage Embossing powders along the edges, as well as in the upper right hand corner.
I started off by using some mulberry paper as the background, then a paper from Bearly Mine Designs and then my image on top. I've added the Burlap Border die behind the image, and the grass die along the bottom of the image. The corner die is from the Lace Deco Corner Set B. I've also used part of the Butterfly Out corner die cut out in black to give a stark contrast to the rest of the card. The flowers are the Sweet Williams Strip die cut out of the same pink Mulberry paper in the background.
I've used one of the new dies Ivy Corner underneath the flowers and finished it off with the Celtic Heart. And of course with this week's theme of Bling It up, I've added some clear gemstones in the corners, and some blue gems on the ivy corner.

Don't forget you have the chance to win a $20 voucher to use at Cheery Lynn Designs by entering our weekly challenge.

Spring Treat Box

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Hi, it's Gini, and I've created a cute little box - but of course, I had to dress it up with my Cheery Lynn Designs dies!
I wrapped the Spring Flower Burst Doily around the box, and added pearls.  The Rum Punch Tiny Doily was perfect for the ends of the box.  The flower was made with the Shasta Daisy Strip.  It is so wonderful to now have the Mini Fanciful Flourish - right and left side.  It makes my greenery nice and balanced.

You know, the birthstone for April is the diamond - so since we only have a couple of days left this month, we would love to see some bling on your CLD challenge projects.  One talented crafter will win a $20 gift certificate to the store - so get those projects posted!

Wired Wall Hanging

3:49 AM 4 Comments
Hello everybody Tamara here, its Sunday again and that means my post and inspiration for Cheery Lynn.  My project this week is a wall hanging.

I die cut my base from the biggest scalloped edge square stacker.  Its just the right side for these type of wall hangings and the best thing is that you could add to it at a later stage if you so wished. Some of my previous wall hangings I have created 2 and 3 tiered ones, they do look so effective! I like to give these as gifts instead of traditional cards..

For the sentiment I used Eco green acrylic paint in pomegranate and aged gold with a little walnut stain distress inks on the side.. These gorgeous flowers are from the new release called Shasta Daisy, these come in a flower strip.. To create the shape I first spritzed with water, crumpled them up then very carefully unfolded.  Once you have a shape that you like use your heat gun to dry.  I dripped these into melted beeswax, they then retain their shape.
The leafs have had a dusting of perfect pearls over the beeswax, this creates such a soft sheen..

I have also added a touch of flower soft to the edges.

Hope you like my inspiration today, if you would like a chance at winning $20 coupon to spend on Cheery Lynn Dies, check out Cheery Lynn Challenge blog.  Challenges start on Monday's we have a different theme each week.
Well I'm off got a busy day ahead. Wherever you are have a fabulous day..

Mother's Kittens *GDT Cheery Lynn Designs*

3:30 AM 7 Comments
We want to thank Lisa for designing for us this month, it has been wonderful watching you create with Cheery Lynn Designs dies.  Please leave her a comment to let her know she is appreciated.

Hello, It's Lisa with this week's card for Cheery Lynn Designs. I can't believe it is the end of the month already and my guest designing has already come to an end...wish it could last longer...although I'm sure there are lots of ladies wanting to guest design too...good luck to you all! So here is my card that was inspired from this week's challenge...Mother's Day! I chose a mother cat and kittens because my mother LOVES cats and so this reminds me of her so much. In fact, this image also has 3 kittens and well, that is exactly like me and my two siblings. Love you mother!

I chose cream, white, pink and kraft for my color theme. My mother loves pinks and vintage so with all Cheery Lynn Die cuts this made this card perfect for her. I used 6 die cuts on this card:

I really love the miniature roses. They are super small and now I don't need to by those tiny roses anymore :) now I can make my own....love it. Remember a couple of weeks ago I mention getting more die cuts at the local convention??? Well, that is something I did. Besides getting the miniature roses, I also purchased the flourish leaf strip and a birdcage. I'm so excited to use some of them today and I will be using them more in the near future :)

Well, thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my Mother's Day card made with all the wonderful Cheery Lynn Designs Die cuts. I sure hope my mother loves it too! Have a wonderful Mother's Day!
Hugs, Lisa

Happy Mother's Day

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Hi Everyone,

We are fast approaching Mother's Day so it is time to dust off the Vintage papers and create a card for your Mother. This one is actually a gift for a friend so I still have to make a card for my own Mother.

I have seen this card used by many different people and I absolutely just love it so I had to give it a whirl. It's called a Pop Up Book Card and you can find the tutorial here.

I am really happy with the way it turned out. What I like about this card the most is the inside. We normally do not give much attention to the inside but this fold is all about the inside.

Since this was a gift for a friend I also made a special box to hold the card. You can find my tutorial here.

Here's a list of the dies used for this project:

B226 - Happy (Set of 2)
B227 - Love (Set of 2)
B232 - Mother's (Set of 2)
B235 - You (Set of 2)
B236 - Day (Set of 2)
B308 - City Girl Edger
B311 - Chrystanthemum Strip
B315 - Ivy Corner Flourish
XM-8 - XM Scalloped Oval
DL140 - Dutch Scallop Square
Flourishes Stamps - Motherly Love

I hope you can find some time to visit the challenge this week and put in your entry where the theme is Mother's Day! With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Have a Cheery Day!

Recycled Flowers

3:30 AM 4 Comments

My sister Gini and I love to hit the thrift doors and see what type of treasures we can find.  There is always something that can be altered or reused.  Believe it or not, these flowers/leaves were created using an antique dictionary.  So love everything about them.
Just a bit of Glimmer Mist, ink and of course Cheery Lynn Dies and you too can make these super chic flowers.

Here are all the dies I used on this card

See you next week.

Hugs, Lori

Mothers Day

3:30 AM 7 Comments

Hi and Good Morning. :)

Our new challenge this week at Cheery Lynn  Designs  is 'Mothers Day', and as always the winner will receive a brilliant $20 voucher to spend online at the Cheery Lynn Store, so well worth playing along.

Now, sadly, I dont have my mum around anymore, but still find myself making cards that I know she would have really liked, and she loved anything with faeries, butterflies and flowers, so  she would have really loved this card too.

I started off with a 6 x 6 inch card base, and layered MME papers (and scraps) onto white American Crafts cardstock.  All the die cuts were made with this same card too, as it cuts beautifully.

I used 4 new release dies on this project, and started off by bordering the side panel with the City Girl Edger, and layering on top the Vertical Mesh Heart border.  I tucked the stunning Felicity Doily behind my image and added one of the new words from the sentiments range at the bottom.  The flower is made from the fabulous Daisy Strip, and I  added a couple of my favourite butterflies to finish.

All dies used on this card are:

I hope you find time to join in this week, and dont forget there is always fresh inspiration over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog.

Have a smashing week, and thanks so much for visiting today,

Say it with Flowers

3:30 AM 7 Comments

The Cheery Lynn Designs challenge this week is Mother's Day.  Nothing says love like flowers.  I have created an easel card with this adorable image, Bella with Flowers from Wild Rose Studio.  I began by cutting my card base with my Scalloped Square Mega Doily Reflections dies.  I used the 5 5/8" die.  I love the large scallops and the piercings along the edge.  I used my Scalloped Circle Lg Stackers and coordinating Silver Circle Stackers for the stamped image.

In the new release this month, we have two new mesh border dies: Hearts Horizontal and Hearts Vertical.  How nice to have both directions.  As you can see I used the Vertical Hearts on the front of the card, and the Horizontal Hearts on the base.  I created these lovely flowers with my Shasta Daisy Strip die; medium and small sizes.  I curled the ends of the petals around a paint brush handle to give them some shape before adding the brad. Also in this month's new release was a Mini Fanciful Flourish Reverse.  I have used both it and the original Mini Fanciful Flourish for my greenery.  So nice to have them curving both directions!  The last embellishment was my Love Always, stamped onto a Sentiment Frame #1.  The beautiful paper is also from Wild Rose Studio.  Finished size is 5.5 inches square.

Be sure to visit the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog for more inspiration and to join in on this week's Anything Goes challenge for a chance to win $20 to the store.

For Mom's Everywhere

3:30 AM 7 Comments

Good Morning Cheery Lynn fans, Donna here with a Mother's Day card, even though we celebrate Mother's Day in the Uk in March, I decided to make one for this week's challenge.

I've used an image from LOTV, colored with Copics, and cut out with the oval classic Lg Silver stackers, I then drew the false stitching using the edge of the die to make perfect lines. I then cut out a larger circle using the Oval Classic Large Stackers. The largest square cut out of Kraft cardstock was done using the Mini Pearl Square. All other matting was created using the square classic and scalloped Lg Stackers. Flowers are the new Shasta Daisy Strip, and the Embellishment #1 die. Foliage is the ivy strip and the centre piece from the Victorian Garden Doily Frame., I've also used the Princess Tree at the top of my card. The gauze border across the centre is another one of the new releases.
I made the sentiment spelling out Mom using a alpha stamp set from Whimsy and the Tags 4 set. Papers are from Bearly Mine, pearls from my stash. The card is 8x8.

Sisters and Friends

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Anyone who knows me, knows that my sister is my best friend - so I really had fun putting this card together.   I was a little creative with the Sister cut - adding an "S" to it from the end of the Mother's die.  That is one of the things that I really love about our sentiments - they are all the same font and size, so it's easy to combine them.  I made another project this weekend for Earth Day, and just combined the "ea" from the Easter die, and the rest of the letters from the Mother's die - to form the word Earth.

The flowers were created with our latest strip dies - and lots of pretty greenery from the new release as well.

This week at the challenge blog,we want to see you Mother's Day creations.  Play along for your chance to win a $20 gift certificate.
