Ann's Altered Matchbox Drawers

3:30 AM 5 Comments
Hello, It's Ann here with my last post as a guest designer and although i'm sad to be leaving i have really enjoyed sharing my creativity with you. Thank you so much BJ, Lori and Gini for having me on the team, it's been wonderful and i am grateful for the opportunity.

So for my last week i have created a set of altered matchbox drawers and yes, i have used real matchboxes for this project. There are 12 boxes over three layers and the drawers open on all four sides.

I love how the Chasing Rainbows doily makes a perfect centerpiece on the top of my drawers and of course no project is complete without some handmade flowers using the fabulous Rose and Sweet Williams dies.

All of the wonderful dies used on this project are listed below:

Have a wonderful weekend and best wishes from New Zealand for your upcoming 4th of July celebrations.

Citrus Fresh

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi and Good Morning Everyone, Alison here today :)

Well I was feeling bright and summery when I made this card, and I also fancied a bit of a challenge!  I dont do CAS very often (or very well!) and I also never play with orange!  So this ticks both of my 'out of my comfort zone' boxes. lol.

I started out with a 6 x 6 inch scalloped blank card base and layered First Edition papers onto white American Crafts Cardstock.

I then placed the Dutch Scalloped Square frame over my dotty paper and then added the scalloped square and square die cuts.  I cut the gorgeous Sophias Heart mini doily for my centrepiece and added the sentiment on top.  For a finishing touch I made 2 daisies from the Daisy Flower strip and topped off with a little card candi.

Simples!

All dies used on this card are:

DL140 - Dutch Scallop Square
DL238 - Sophias Heart Mini Doily
XL-2 - Scalloped Stackers Square
L-1 - Classic Silver Square Stackers
XM-5 - Scalloped Circle
XM-4 - Circles
B259 - Daisy Strip.

Thanks so much for visiting out blog today, and dont forget you can enter our Weddings challenge until saturday over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog.

Have a smashing week,

Keepsake Box

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Hello again everyone,

For my project this week, I have designed a neat little keepsake box.  I thought this might be a nice idea that a Bride and Groom could use to store some of their memories from their special day.

I started by making a traditional box where the top of the box opened and thought that it needed just a little more flair so I also added a drawer for some extra storage.   I used a magnet which I sandwiched between the layers of paper to keep the top of the box closed and the drawer is based on a match box but just bigger.  Once I  had both made I glued them together and then wrapped DP around both the hide the seam.

Here is a closer look at the top which I decorated using some of my favorite Cheery Lynn dies.  A full list of what was used can be found below.  The rose was created using the Build A Flower #3 die.  I thought the distressing on the DP made the rose look so elegant for this special keepsake box : )

Here are the list of dies used:

I hope you can find some time to visit the challenge this week and put in your entry where the theme is Wonderful Weddings!  With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Have a Cheery Day!

Summer Bright Card

3:30 AM 4 Comments

It's a Cheery Lynn kind of day and I've got the perfect card to kick off this bright and sunny summer day.  Today I created this card using Graphic 45's latest collection " Bohemian Bazaar ".  It's so darn colorful.  I love it and it compliments my flower cluster just perfect.

I created the ruffled edges using Anastasia border.  I spritz the cut dies with water very lightly then I pleated into the ribbon shape.  I let the borders dry and then adhered them onto the back of the card stock.  I love the look.  It gives a ton of movement to my project.

Here is a complete list of dies used on this card:

See you next week.

Hugs, Lori

A Wedding of Elegance

3:30 AM 8 Comments
Good Morning Cheery Lynn fans, Donna here with my last card for Cheery Lynn. Unfortunately with all the outdoor summer projects we have planned, my crafting time is going to be very limited.......so I leave you with this wedding card I created following the Challenge theme this week of "Wonderful Weddings"
I've used the Celtic Chain Border along the side of the card and placed some clear rhinestones in the gaps. The centre of the card I've used the Anastasia border all along the edges of the centre paper. The image was placed in the Polynesian Sails oval of which I created a white angel wing behind it and it's been raised up with foam pads.
The flowers are all medium roses, with some bead flowers placed inside, and I've added a couple resin flowers and placed the tiny flower from the Embellishment #2 set inside, and at the ends of the Lace Roses and Flourishes.

Have a great summer everyone!
I will be back mid July with Sandy to join in with the team to show you the fabulous new dies coming out July 15th.......till then...

And now to our inspiration for today......

Sheila Lygo created this romantic wedding card.  The Notre Dame Cathedral die was the perfect choice to imagine a formal church wedding. And what bride wouldn't love to have those flowers on her special day?
Mini Fanciful Flourish

Debbie Brownmiller created this lovely wedding ensemble with a card and a matching placecard.  Have you notice CLD's adorable placecards? What a wonderful addition that would make for the reception! And for Debbie's card, she took some cute store-bought wedding attire stickers, and dressed them up with some Cheery Lynn Designs diecuts. That extra bit of paper lace is just so pretty.

You must have played along with each week's challenge to be eligible to win this month's giveaway - but we will have another contest next month! So keep watching and playing.

Summer Flowers with Cheery Lynn Designs

3:30 AM 5 Comments

The official first day of summer was last week, so to help celebrate - I have a summery card to share with you.

The flowers were made with the Shasta Daisy die, and Build A Flower 2 Embellishments for the centers. They are very easy to put together - in fact, I made all of these flowers with only 2 cuts from the daisy die.  I also used the new and improved Silver Stitching Tool on my oval (I know it's hard to notice it on the picture - but there is stitching around the edge.) Such a great way to make perfect stitches.

This is the last week to enter the Summer Blast with Cheery Lynn to win an eBosser - but we will have another contest in July, so be sure to watch for that.  This is also the last week that our challenges will be found on the separate challenge blog - starting June 30th, you will find them starting on Sundays on the inspiration blog.  This week the challenge is Wonderful Weddings. Show us your best creation using CLD and you could win a $20 gift certificate!

Patriotic Summer Scene with Guest Designer Holly

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi folks!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm sad to say this is my last post as a Guest Designer.  I have truly enjoyed coming up with these fun and creative cards to share with you this month.  Many thanks to BJ, Lori, and Gini for asking me to be a guest designer and for helping me out with my questions.  I have had a great time!!

For my card today, I was thinking about the upcoming 4th of July holiday, and I wanted to make a patriotic summer scene card.  This Patriotic Swag die fit the bill perfectly.  If you haven't checked out this die, it comes as one large connected die.  There are three pieces connected by some very thin strips of metal.  It's easy to snap them apart into three individual dies.  Look at the picture below.  You can see I separated the three pieces and then cut each piece with a different color of cardstock.

I used the following dies on my card:

Patriotic Swag
Victorian Picket Fence
Clouds and Rain
Grass Border

I started by sponging some blue and green inks on white cardstock and then I stamped the tree to one side.  The clouds were adhered so that some of them were floating past the edges of the scene.  The picket fence is actually some kraft cardstock that I distressed to look like a whitewashed fence and then I added the grass border to the bottom.  Finally I put the swag together and glued it to the fence, and then I pulled some of the grass out so it would be "blowing" against the swag.

Thanks so much for checking out my artwork this month. It's been a wonderful experience, and I know the next Guest Designer will have a great time.  I hope you all have a wonderful week and a Happy and Safe 4th of July!  :-)

Fancy Fold Card With Ann

3:30 AM 5 Comments
Hello from Ann, this week i wanted to share a fancy fold card with you.
It take's a while to construct but for an important occasion like a wedding, anniversary or significant birthday this card would be really special.

It has wings that fold forward and back so the card can stand on it's own.
I used the anastasia border to decorate the sides, it created a lovely lacey effect.
I wanted to use a victoria garden doily frame on the front but it was too wide so i cut it in half then overlapped the pieces, cut through the center again and discarded the extra sections. This way i was able to make the frame fit my card perfectly and added floral clusters to hide the joins.
The center portion lifts up to reveal an inside area where you can add a greeting. I intertwined a celtic heart around the mini pearl circle to frame it.

Thanks for stopping by and i hope you have enjoyed my card, I will be back again next week with my final post as a guest designer. All of the wonderful dies i have used are listed below.

FRM 128 Victoria's Garden Doily Frame
B136 Anastasia Border
B278 Lady Kate Edger
B307 Sweet Williams Strip
B119 Tropical Leaves
B147 Olive Branches
B265 Build A Flower #3 Embellishments
B244 Best Wishes
B144 Celtic Heart
DL202 Mini Pearl Circle

Mystery Flowers?

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Hi Cheery Lynn Fans, Lori here with you !  Today I've got a card I created with the focal point being the stunning flowers in the center.  I'm not sure what kind of flower they are suppose to be, sunflowers maybe?  just pretty that's all I know.  I really love the way you can layer Cheery Lynn dies and create something so intricate and stunning in no time.

The paper that I used is from Graphic 45, French Country, so I thought the chicken wire die was a must to use with the paper.  Don't you think?

Here is a complete recipe of dies used for this challenge.

Remember to join the fun this month with Cheery Lynn's Summer Blast.  The challenge this week is Keeping it Krafty (use Kraft paper).  I used Kraft paper for the center of my flowers and also the border in the background, so go get your Cheery Lynn dies and join the fun.  You might just win!!!

Song Birds

3:30 AM 6 Comments
Hi Everyone,

Today I have a fun fold to share with you.  My inspiration came from a very lovely and talented lady.  Her name is Judy and she calls this fold a Horizontal Multifold.   As you will see, it is pretty simple to make but gives you a bit of a different twist for the times you want to add  that little something extra.

Here is a little closer look at the front.  I used Sweet Williams Strip and crepe paper to make the flowers.  With crepe paper you can make the flowers as full as you want because the paper is so thin you can layer many more die cuts to achieve your desired shape and fullness.

here is the inside

Here's a list of the dies used for this project:

I hope you have an opportunity to play along with the challenge this week and put in your entry.   The theme is Keep it Krafty (use kraft paper)!  With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Have a Cheery Day!

A Krafty Card

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Good Morning Cheery Lynn fans, Donna here with my card for this week and I'm following this week's challenge theme of "Keeping it Krafty". The base of my card is using Kraft cardstock, which I've used two of my papers on it,  I changed the colors in Paint Shop Pro, even though it's full of strawberries, I thought this color would be an unique color scheme, and goes so well with the cardstock as well and I've used a matching dotty paper.

I've used a Sherri Baldy image called Strawberry Sweet Cheeks, and followed the colors in the paper, I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. I even tried to replicate the flowers in the paper by using the Sweet Williams Strip and adding distress ink and a black pen. The centre of the flowers was created by using a Viva Decor pen.
I cut out all the foliage using purple cardstock to match the foliage in the paper, using a variety of dies, all listed below.

Masculine Birthday Card with Cheery Lynn Designs

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Since we celebrated Father's Day yesterday, I thought this would be great timing to share a masculine birthday card with you.  I love adding flowers to everything I do - but, I will admit, they aren't really manly.  Greenery however, is perfect for those outdoorsy guys.  I also love the look that I achieved using the Rock Embossing Plate.  I inked the plate before running it through the machine, and it makes my Kraft paper look like cork.

Speaking of Kraft paper....that's the challenge this week.  Be sure to link up your project using Cheery Lynn Designs dies and kraft paper, for your chance to win a $20 store credit.

Directions:

1.       Make card from cardstock;  adhere patterned paper.

2.       Ink embossing plate with dark brown ink and run through machine with kraft  paper  rectangle.  Adhere to patterned paper and machine stitch.

3.       Die cut chicken wire and adhere to card. Layer a frayed piece of burlap ribbon over the bottom portion of the die cut.

4.       Die cut two French Flair squares. Stamp sentiment on the smaller one. Adhere with foam adhesive.

5.       Decorate the sentiment with die cut ferns and Dew Drops as shown.

6.       For the inside of the card, add a square of patterned paper with edges inked.

7.       Adhere a stamped, trimmed sentiment and die cut ric-rac trim.
