Have a Magical Night

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a fun Halloween card with some of my favorite festive dies. I chose dies that would echo the circles in the image. The dots in the Horizon Square Boutique Frame, the Tiny Bubbles Border and the Dots in the Embossing plate all bring focus back to the little frog and his spots!  The bats and Spider Web Mesh Border were both cut from Glitter card stock for that added glitz. A bit of pen stitching on the focus square and some 3 dimensional bats finish off the card.

Happy Holidays Tag with Rhonda

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Happy Monday to you, it's Rhonda here today to host the blog.

I have a little holiday tag inspiration for you today featuring one of the newer release dies, the Happy Holidays Hanger.

For fun I used a bit of non traditional holiday color scheme.

I used the Scalloped Rectangle die to create my tag base. Next I added the Horizon Coved Rectangle, cut it apart and layered the Swedish Spring Oval Frame in a horizontal position.

You'll see some delicate snowflakes cut from vellum and accented with tiny bling. The Happy Holidays Hanger sentiment in a bright color and the Pretty Pretty Bow finish the design along with some seam binding ribbon and hemp bow.

Vintage Layered Card by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi Everyone, Julie here today hosting the blog. This week I thought I would share a vintage style card with you.

I thought I would show you previous layers on my card as it makes it easier to see. The first 2 layers glued onto my card were torn at the edges and some distress added to the edges and I placed my tiny doily onto both sides. My next layer, I die cut out the Horizon Square Frame, distressed the edges and added some creases onto the paper and placed my die cut heart.

My image I glued lace around and added to my Magic Mirror die which I had distressed the edges on and added some gilding wax too.

Layers of different leaves and flourishes were added which I cut out in different coordinating papers. My roses were die cut from white cardstock. I shaded the paper with my Copics before building my roses. Finally adding a few pearls on my card to finish.

Good luck to everyone entering our challenge this week and thanks for stopping by.

Copy Cat Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hello Everyone,

Corina here with you today with a Question!

Do you remember the card below that I posted back on Friday, July 25, 2014? The card was called Christmas in July!

Do you see the similarity between the two cards? The Card "Map" or sketch is the same. A flip of the large flower, another flower instead of the snowflake and created using a different colour palette.

I love how using the same Cheery Lynn Design dies in different colours can create spectacular results! Try doing this with a favourite card of yours!

As you can tell the Fishtail Banners are a favourite of mine! I find them so versatile. I even used pieces from the top of the largest Fishtail banner to tuck under the tears of the pattern paper.

I also mimicked the writing on the pattern paper to my Shasta Daisy flower by stamping on each layer before assembling them. Applied a little ink to the edges and a rhinestone!

So next week I am challenging myself to work with the colour pink.  So make sure to check in next Friday and see what I have come up with!

Dies used:
Shasta Daisy - B310

Sweet Christine - B434

Coved Rectangle - XM-10
Scalloped Coved Rectangle - DL195
Horizon Fishtail Banners (3 Dies) - DL278

Tiny Fanciful Flourish Right & Left (Set of 2) - B387

I hope you will play along in our weekly Challenge 151 - Die Cut FlowersYou could win a $20 shopping spree at the online Cheery Lynn Designs store!

Thanks for joining me today!

Take care,
Corina Finley

MY HEART IS FULL OF LOVE.....

3:30 AM 4 Comments

HELLO  !!!
My dear friends, I am  Anita with my favourite cheery lynn dies this wednesday. I,m so thrilled because this week we are asking you to play with die cut flowers. Isn't that fabulous !! Now that you all know me, you can very well guess, why this is my favourite, I love playing with wide range of flower dies with Cheery Lynn and here I will show how one single die can be used to create a variety of flowers. Here I have used the Rose die to create two types of blossoms instead of using it to make the rose. And of course , there is the shasta daisy strip die, which I have used to create a zinnia type of flower instead of regular daisy. The point I want to make is that you can use your imagination to make numerous flowers from one single die. Now here is my card, with all the supplies listed below.

Large Rose B155
Shasta Daisy B310
Big leaves from Build a flower #3
Flourish Leaf Strip B178
Heart to Heart Doily DL 106

Happy Fall Y'all!

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a Autumnal Equinox greeting. Fall is my favorite time of the year...crisp mornings, colorfuln leaves, pumpkins!!! Naturally I wanted to share this fall greeting! I distressed some kraft core card stock and crumpled up the papers. I diecut my leaves and brought out veins with chalks. I layered my sentiment on leaves and a doily and a distressed background. I created a focal flower with the sunflower die and used the fringe strip of the black-eyed susan for the center. Some burlap string and a molded bee embellishment completed the card

Flutterby Butterfly by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi Everyone, Julie here hosting the blog today. Hope you are having a nice weekend and getting some crafty time to yourself. I love the elegance of white on white cards and with this weeks challenge being Things with Wings, I felt inspired to combine both together.

My corners I creased slightly down the middle and glued at the edges to give a 3D effect. I also layered up my dies but rather than gluing totally flat onto my card, I layered with silicone glue to encourage the light to reflect in between the layers to show the beauty of my die cuts.

My butterflies I sprayed some glue onto and added an extra fine glitter to also capture the light and give some sparkle.

Good luck to everyone entering our challenge this week and I will see you all next Saturday.

Just for You Card with Corina!

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello Friends,

It is Corina here with you today, to share my 'Regal' red toned card made for You! I am very pleased how this card turned out. I hope you like it too!

I enjoy using the small Gardenia Flower die. Such beautiful layers. To create the center of the flower, I used my tweezers to roll the center - the four petal layer. I formed and curled each petal with a stylus on a piece of foam. I then adhered each layer together.

The layering of the Ambergris Doily and the Polynesian Sails Mini doily worked great! Each and every layer adds depth, richness and detail.

Winter Card

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a winter card using the Birch Tree and the Fancy Deer. I began by making an embossed snowflake background with a piece of vellum. I layered snowflakes and fancy deer with torn pieces of "snow". I created depth by using foam tape. I added "shimmer" to the snow background with pan pastel. A bit of "snow" in the front and on the branches collected as glitter. My focal panel was mounted onto a matte with a bit of Snowflake Mesh Border. A bunny from the Birch Tree set and a wee Hello finish off the card.

Patriotic Page with Rhonda

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Greetings and welcome to the Cheery Lynn Designs blog!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog.

I made a patriotic page today featuring a photo of Mt. Rushmore that I took when we were on vacation this summer. There was something so patriotic and majestic about seeing the monument in person.

I started with an 8x8 piece of white cardstock and used Fancy Corners #4 on the corners. Next, I used the Scalloped Rectangle and aligned it to cut a 7x7" square. (This is one of the Reflections Boutique dies.) At the top I used a Victorian Romance Flourish as a hanger type of element in between my layers. Lace Heart Square is next.

I had some pieces left from my project last week, so you will see the Foliage Embossed white cardstock and French Lattice on top, tucked under the Southern Charm Valance on the right.

To anchor my photo I used the Polynesian Sails Oval, then layered a medium Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker with foam squares. The photo is then attached with foam squares. This gives me a lot of area to layer my cuts. On the bottom you'll see a snip of Sophia's Heart Border, another piece left over from a previous project.

Layered on the right are the Quills and a Wheat cluster, topped with the Star and Birds of Earth and Sky. To the left of that is a Branch. There are Cloud cuts layered under the photo and one attached with foam squares.

Cheery Lynn Designs Dies Used:
Fancy Corner Cuts #4 - B431
Scalloped Rectangle - DL199
Lace Square Heart - DL189
Polynesian Sails Oval - DL153
Clouds and Rain - B320
Stars (Set of 3) (Utility) - QF120
Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker Frames - DL252
French Lattice Small - FRM132
Foliage Embossing Plate - E127
Victorian Romance Flourish - DL151
Sophia's Heart Border - B333
Wheat Heads (Set of 2) - B388
Quill and Ink Pot - B369
Southern Charm Valance - B454
Birds of Earth and Sky - B349
Branch (Set of 2) - B466

Please join us this week for our all new challenge "Things with Wings".  You could win a gift certificate for $20 to the online store just for playing along! You can't win if you don't play.
